BAG END Loudspeaker Systems introduced pro versions of its popular INFRAsub-18 and INFRAsub-12 powered subwoofers at the 2003 AES show in New York City Oct. 10-14. The INFRAsub-18 PRO and INFRAsub-12 PRO models offer new control abilities for professional studio surround monitoring applications not available on the immensely popular home theater models. Among new features, the pro models contain an input card offering six inputs and five hipass filter outputs. In addition, an INFRA slave output is calibrated to the internal amplifier for additional speaker modules. A remote threshold indicator allows the dynamic filter to be to be monitored remotely from the bridge of the console. Polarity and 10 dB attenuater switches allow for fine tuning adjustments and integration to the upper range speaker systems. Otherwise the INFRAsub-18 PRO and INFRAsub-12 PRO are nearly identical to the home theater versions. They are both powered by an internal 400-watt amplifier and controlled by BAG ENDs exclusive dual integrator, also internal. The Infra processor gives the Infrasub12 PRO the same ability as its bigger brother to produce a flat acoustical response down to 8 Hz. The Infrasub-18 PRO contains an 18-inch woofer and measures 23.5 inches high by 21.5 inches wide by 18.5 inches deep and weights 91 pounds. The Infrasub-12 is loaded with a 12-inch woofer that measures only 15½ inches high by 18 inches wide by 15Ύ inches deep. And at just 57 pounds, it weighs a little more than half of the Infrasub-18 PRO, which weighs 91 pounds. Specifications
