Television City in Studio City, Calif., the CBS-TV Network’s West Coast production
facility, has added to its inventory of BAG END subwoofers. Six INFRAsub-18
PRO self-powered subwoofers were purchased recently by CBS-TV through Ike Benoun
at Coast Recording in Hollywood. The INFRAsub-18 PRO, which incorporates BAG
END’s exclusive INFRA bass signal processor as well as a 400-amp on-board amp,
has the ability to produce a flat response down to 8 Hz. It also offers new
control abilities for professional studio surround monitoring applications.
Among new features, the pro model contains an input card offering six inputs
and five hipass filter outputs. In addition, an INFRA slave output is calibrated
to the internal amplifier for additional speaker modules. A remote threshold
indicator allows the dynamic filter to be to be monitored remotely from the
bridge of the console. Polarity and 10 dB attenuater switches allow for fine
tuning adjustments and integration to the upper range speaker systems. The new
speaker systems will be installed in various post-production rooms and p.a.
setups at Television City, according to Ray Lignowski, CBS-TV audio supervisor.
Six years ago, CBS-TV purchased a pair of INFRAsub-18s for its then brand new
HDTV editing room, which – at the time – was one of the first HDTV editing rooms
on the West Coast. |
